Gay Tel Aviv: Party til dawn

Known as the city that never takes a break, LGBT life in Tel Aviv is perhaps the most vibrant in the middle east. Great beaches on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, restaurants with cuisine ranging from middle eastern to European to Asian (and everything in between), trendy clubs, dancing, music, shopping – Tel Aviv is the center of Israel's modern life. People from all over the country flock to Tel Aviv's free and easy seaside atmosphere. Thanks to the democratic tradition of Israel, the gay community enjoys political freedom as in no other middle-eastern country.
Year-round, Thursday and Friday nights are the big "going-out" nights – with huge dance parties usually held on Friday nights with top DJ's brought in from Europe and the U.S. plus plenty of talented locals. Every June the city wears the rainbow flag as a series of pride activities dominate the social scene of Tel Aviv, culminating with the annual pride parade. The parade starts at the LGBT community center and after winding down the city streets ends up at the beach with an amazing dance party. There isn't a month that goes by that Tel Aviv isn't celebrating some musical or cultural event – often offered free of charge. Be sure to take a stroll through the renovated Meir Park where Tel Aviv's community center is located.
